South Wake Lacrosse Conference brings middle school players together on local teams, with opportunities to learn, compete, and build friendships.
We welcome beginners and experienced players, with a focus on fundamentals, teamwork, and preparation for high school lacrosse. Players represent their communities while building confidence and enjoying the sport.

What families need to know about registration, equipment, and the season.
Read the full league FAQWho can play?
The league welcomes boys in grades 6–8 from the communities served by SWLC. Both new and experienced players are welcome. Highly experienced fifth graders may be considered individually; please contact the league before registering.
Do players need lacrosse experience?
No previous playing experience is required, and there are no tryouts. Teams are capped at 30 players. SWLC gives new players a place to learn and returning players a chance to keep developing alongside their community.
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no cost to participate in the league. A jersey, 10–12 practices, six league games, and the season-ending playday are included. Players supply their own equipment. Families may choose to participate in an optional fundraiser to support the league.
What equipment does my player need?
Bring a lacrosse helmet, shoulder pads, arm pads, gloves, stick, mouth guard, and cleats or running shoes. Equipment rentals are not available through the league.

When and where does the season take place?
The spring season starts in mid-February, with Saturday morning games in the Apex/Cary area. Team practice schedules and confirmed game details will be shared with registered families through TeamSnap.
Which team should we choose?
Start with the team serving your local community in the team directory above. If you live in South Wake County and don’t fit one of those teams, use free-agent registration. The league will work to place your player with a geographically appropriate team.
Is SWLC a school-sponsored program?
SWLC is an independent community lacrosse league. It is not affiliated with or sponsored by Wake County Public School System, individual schools, or high school athletic programs. Community names help families find their local team.
